1. Purpose

This policy defines the list of paid holidays observed by the Company. The holiday calendar reflects statutory national holidays, regional observances, and religious festivals relevant to the Company’s workforce, while ensuring fairness, inclusivity, and business continuity.


2. Official Company Holidays (Fixed Holidays)

The Company shall observe the following paid holidays each calendar year for all employees:

  1. Republic Day – 26 January
  2. Independence Day – 15 August
  3. Gandhi Jayanti – 2 October
  4. Eid-ul-Fitr – Two (2) days
  5. Eid-ul-Adha – Three (3) days
  6. Shab-e-Qadr – One (1) day

3. Restricted Religious Holidays (Paid)

In order to respect religious diversity, the Company provides Restricted Religious Holidays (RRH) as paid leave, applicable only to employees who observe the respective religion.

  • Each eligible employee may avail up to two (2) Restricted Religious Holidays per calendar year.

  • These holidays are paid and shall not be deducted from Casual Leave (CL), Sick Leave (SL).

  • Restricted Religious Holidays may be availed only for the festivals listed below and only by employees who observe the respective religion.

  • Prior intimation and managerial approval are required, subject to business requirements.

Recognized Restricted Religious Holidays

  • Ashura – Muslim employees
  • Jummat-ul-wida – Muslim employees
  • Eid-e-Milad – Muslim empooyees
  • Diwali – Hindu employees
  • Holi – Hindu employees
  • Guru Nanak Jayanti (Gurpurab) – Sikh employees
  • Vaisakhi – Sikh employees
  • Christmas Day – Christian employees
  • Easter – Christian employees

Unused Restricted Religious Holidays shall lapse at the end of the calendar year and shall not be carried forward or encashed.


4. Holiday Dates

  • Fixed national holidays shall be observed on their respective calendar dates.

  • Islamic holidays are based on lunar observations; therefore, actual dates may vary and shall be confirmed through official government notifications and/or local moon-sighting announcements.

  • Dates of restricted holidays shall follow the standard calendar observance.


5. Applicability and Work Requirements

  • All regular employees are eligible for the fixed holidays listed in Section 2.

  • Restricted holidays are applicable only to employees who observe the relevant religion.

  • Employees required to work on any declared holiday due to business exigencies may be granted a compensatory off or alternative arrangement, subject to management approval.


6. Review and Amendments

The Company reserves the right to review or modify the holiday list or classification based on statutory requirements, workforce composition, or operational needs. Any changes shall be communicated in advance.


7. Interpretation

This policy is intended to comply with applicable labour laws and accepted private-sector practices in Jammu & Kashmir. In case of any ambiguity, management’s interpretation shall be final.
